God Is Not Finished With Me Yet

August 28, 2012

There was a man who was very ill so He sought the Great Physician’s help… He was anxious and expected the worst for his future (death).

“Sir, you have a disease that’s leading unto death, yet there is a cure if you are interested in being healed? The Physician told the man…

The man’s heart jumped with joy this was Good News he was going to be healed… The man jumped up from the chair he was sitting answering the physician’s question with a rejuvenated “YES”.

The Physician smiled and said, “This will be a long process and it will not be easy… But I cannot do this on my own… You must change your life style and avoid those things that will not help in your healing progress… You must be careful of what you eat and your activities..  It will have to be a permanent change… You cannot go back to eating the way you did and living the life you have this lifestyle will not help in your healing progress… It will be hard as there will be moments of weakness. When that happens all you have to do is call upon me. I will strengthen your heart so that you can overcome that moment of temptation.”

The man was excited and jumped up and said “I believe you can heal me and I will help in the process of my healing.

The physician smiled and spoke softly. “Here are your instructions for living a healthier life style” as He handed the man a book

When the man left the Physician office he was ecstatic that he would be able to live so he changed his life. The man and The Physician work together and when times seem hard and the man’s old ways of life tried to grasp him once again he leaned more on The Physician … There were a few times that he lapsed back to his old ways but as soon as he recognised he had fallen.. He never gave an excuses and stopped immediately as he set his feet back on the right course for his health..

His friends and family mocked his choice in lifestyle yet soon they saw the changes in his life as he grew stronger and healthier. They were intrigued and seek to know how he was healed from what was killing him and wanted what he had..

The man shared his book with the others as he help them set up appointments to see the Great Physician for they too felt the grip of death upon their life. Now many changed their lifestyles because of their personal relationship with The Physician as they followed the instructions He had given them. Others choose to see the physician, but did not want to help in the process of their healing and returned to their old ways. Soon they ended up sicker then when they first met the Physician..

We are all that man and Our Physician is Jesus/Yeshua, and the book of instructions is “the Bible”; our spiritual food. When one is being treated cancer, diabetes, heart disease (etc) we must change our life styles as well as our eating habits. So must it be we when we come to Christ. We must change our spiritual habits, as we step away from our worldly fleshly desires and embrace God’s ways for our lives if we desire to become healthy and in the image of Christ so others will desire to seek what we have..

Over the last 10 years a popular saying has arise “I am a work in progress, God is not finished with me yet” Now this is true but only partially true.. Some of us use this as an excuse to continually walk in sin even when their hearts have been convicted not to.. This saying has become a way to justify ones actions when we are rebuked or corrected.. Yet scripture clearly states that we are very much involved in the progress of our healing, so we should strive to follow the instruction the Lord our God has graciously given us and continually seeking His Wisdom, Guidance and Understanding as well as strength and endurance to continue on the right path for our lives.

I hope this makes sense for it is hard for me to write what it upon my heart, below is scripture to reminds that us that God may not be done with us but we must be willing to help in the process for His Will to succeed in our lives To be Holy as He is Holy..

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

James 4

Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;
but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,
because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

1 Peter 1

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 5

Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.

Hebrews 12

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may[j] serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.
For our God is a consuming fire.

Hebrew 12
